
Dewald Brevis photo file. (Figure: X/IPL) Chennai Super Kings was brought by South African young man Dewald Brevis as a replacement for injured Gurjapneet Singh for the rest of the IPL 2025 season.
Brevis, called “Baby AB” for its similarity to AB de Villiers, brings with it an explosive launcher. The 21 -year -old man performed in 81 T20 matches and accumulated 1,787 runs with the highest score of 162. He made his debut T20i for South Africa in 2023 and has so far played two international internationals.

Brevis, who played two T20 International after his debut in 2023, created a name in franchise tournaments around the world, including playing in IPL, CPL, MLC and SA20.
In 2025 SA20 he was the sixth highest runner with 291 in a strike of 184.17, which helped me Cape Town to win his first title.
Brevis was previously associated with the Indians in Mumbai, where there were 10 performances. Chennai Super Kings secured their services for RS 2.2 crore.
