The Chief Minister of N. Chandrababa Naida ordered the WRDs of the WRD Department (WRD) to carry out Polavaram-Banakacherl and other irrigation projects according to the Hybrid Annuity (HAM) and completed tenders by the end of this month.
Mr. Chandrababu Naida, who focused on the inspection meeting at the Secretariat, said that officials should take steps to get the land for the Polavaram – Banakacherla project and that it would be done by Harathi Corporation. Proposals for financing were sent to the Central Government.
Out of the total cost of the 81,900 GBP Crore, the amount of 40 950 GBP would be sought as an EAP loan (external supported project) and 16,380 GBP as grants from the Central Government. The state would mobilize 16,380 GBP under the ham and contributed as its own capital 8 190 Crore.
Polavaram
The main minister wanted the wall of the Polavaram project to be completed by the end of December 2025 and noted that the overall civic work was completed in the range of 81.70%, of which, according to the Congress Party YSR, unjust progress of 3.84%was achieved.
Agriculture
Mr. Naida also told officials to take immediate steps to start agricultural activities in Krishna and Godavari deltas and to call for a focus on increasing groundwater levels, filling tanks and efficient use of water resources. In some parts of the state, he expressed dissatisfaction over the non -functional sensors of physiors and AWS sensors (automatic weather station) and ordered the amount of 30 crore to be sanctioned for the purchase of new equipment.
Water audit
He emphasized the need for a scientific water audit and told officials to issue district newsletters containing details of groundwater levels and water availability in the catchment areas. He suggested that ways to explore the ways to bring the water of the river Silera to Krishna Delta, and ordered the veligonda phase – work to be completed until June 2026.
Budmer is working
On media briefing, the Minister of Water Resources Nimmala Naida said that the main minister was looking for an action plan to reduce the threat of Vijayawad Budamera Rivulet, which included the extension of the permeable capacity of its channel from the current 17,500 cusecs.
Special main secretaries of G. Sai Prasad (water resources) and B. Rajasekhar (agriculture), the main soil management commissioner G. Jaya Lakshmi and other higher officials were present.
