As part of the World Environmental Day celebrations, Gudalur Forest performed on Thursday to clean invasive plants from external reserve forests.
In a press release of the Gudalur Forest division, she said the topic of the World Environment Day this year was “to end plastic pollution” and “no invasive nilgiris”.
The forest department said that the initiative would be the first of many of this year to invent plastic waste from forests and neighboring areas, and also minimized the spread of invasive species such as Lantana Camar.
In the division of Masinagudi in Mudumalai Tiger reserve, World Environment Day celebrated the distribution of trees and seedlings, planting trees and creating awareness among the public to keep the tiger reserve without plastic and waste.
The passing tourists were stopped in the reserve of forest staff and were involved in the initiative to improve public awareness.
