
The newly elected office bearers of the KERAL (KFPA film producers) Association (KFPA) said on Tuesday that the discussion of reducing the salary of the main actors would continue.
The body of the producers previously submitted an application to reduce the salary package of the main crop of actors before the Association of Malaysian Film Artists, stating that this influenced their return on investment. B. Rrakesh, President of KFPA, said they also asked for the actors’ association to consider the proposal to pay the salary in installments.
“We hope in a friendly solution,” he said.
Mr. Rrakesh said they opposed the trend, where several main actors only in the films they created. They should realize that they have become stars through the films made by several other producers, he said.
G. Suesh Kumar, producer, said the proposed platform for booking tickets developed by Digital University Kerala will help you check over the services collected by online ticket websites. These practices will be limited through a government initiative. It will be implemented without affecting the revenues of the theater owners, he said.
Stephen, Secretary of the Association, said he had descended the preliminary trade with films in the Malaysian film industry because the Over-the-top (OTT) platforms were no longer interested in agreement before the theater during the film. These shops witnessed a significant decline, he said.
