The illegal interstate betting missile was arrested by a team of special operations (SOT), Malkajgiri, along with the police Jawahar Nagar, which led to the arrest of four people and seizure of 2 lakh in cash. Bank accounts that hold another 2,47 GBP lakh were frozen, thus getting the total seizure to 4.47 lakh.
The individuals were identified as Thokal Nagesh, Borra Venkaiah Chowdary, Challa Ramesh Babu and D. Sunil.
Two others, M. Rajesh Kumar of Malakpet and Venkat Chowdary of Vijayawady, must still be charged.
The main accused, Thokal Nagesh, a former software employee, joined the Chennai at the Horse Bets, said police officer Rachakonda.
“After moving to Hyderabad in 2020, due to health and financial problems, he began to operate betting activities independently. He created a group of WhatsApp called” Shinewell Enterprises “through which he organized illegal horse betting and added 105 members, including 20 Hyderabad,” said the officer.
The rocket attracted anything unsuspecting bookmakers by promising high yields. Investigators found that Nagesh’s bank accounts recorded transactions in a total of 8.34 GBP associated with betting activities.
Jawahar Nagar was registered with the Jawahar Nagar.
