International Airport KEVEGOWDA (KIA) in Bengalur showed record profit for the first time since its foundation.
The announcement came after the meeting of the Board of Directors at Bangalore International Airport Limited (Bial) held on May 16, chaired by the head Secretary Shalini Rajneesh, who is also chairman of Bial.
In the edition of Bial, he emphasized success as a “main break”. The record profit reflects a strong financial turnover and builds the BLR airport for continuing progress, he added.
Level 5 accreditation
Since May 5, 2024, BLR Airport became the first airport in Asia, which gained level 5 accreditation at the airport airport accreditation program Airports (ACI). This highest certification recognizes an impressive reduction in greenhouse gas emissions with a range of 1 and 2, allowing the airport to achieve pure zero emissions in these categories about seven years before its aim 2030, the edition said.
The BLR Airport won the Silver Award at ACI’s Green Airport Decrition 2025 under the theme of the “Sustainable Energy at Airports” in the 15-38 million passengers.
This means the fourth straight year when the airport gained sustainability from ACI.
