After 49 nomadic untouchables and 10 micro communities lost yet another opportunity to get a separate category to benefit from internal reservation among scheduled castes, they decided to pursue the case in the Karnataka High Court and also challenge the latest Cabinet decision on internal reservation through more petitions.
A meeting of the Karnataka Federation of Untouchable Nomadic Communities on Monday decided to continue the legal battle to secure a separate category in the inner reservation for 59 communities. ‘Swabhimani Samavesha’, a convention was planned for the last week of May in Bengaluru to present the demands.
