Keshwar police in Hubballi arrested an inter-district bike thief and recovered 12 two-wheelers worth around ₹20,000.
A special team of Keshwari police formed by the police commissioner to investigate bike theft nabbed the accused and recovered the bikes stolen from Bengaluru, Belagavi and Hubballi.
Thieves managed to seize as many as seven Royal Enfield motorcycles, two NTORQ, one Honda Dio, one Yamaha and one Bajaj Pulsar.
The 27-year-old accused has been identified as Sayyad Ali alias Harsha alias Harshavardhan Nadaf, a resident of Hullur in Gadag district. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
The team led by Inspector KS Hatti consisted of sub-inspectors Maruti R. and Baba AM and staff Anand Poojar, Anand Govannavar, Amaregowda, Chandra Lamani, Mahesh Bennur, Maruti Basannavar, Vitthal Madar and Basavaraj Angadi.
