
The Guruvayur Sreekrishna temple made purification rituals on Tuesday after a young woman allegedly filmed Instagram reels in a temple pond and corridors, allegedly contrary to temple restrictions.
The woman, identified as Jasmin Jaffar, allegedly entered the Temple Pond steps, where sacred rituals such as Arat were carried out, and made videos herself that washed her legs before she published content on Instagram. She also recorded on temple corridors that fall into areas where photographs and video records were banned by the order of the High Court in Kerala.
After the incident, the rituals were carried out under the instructions of the Tantri temple. The devotees faced Darshan’s restrictions from Tuesday morning to Uharpuja.
Previously, the Devaswom administrator filed a formal complaint against the Temple Police as the goal was to disrupt the sacred and violations of the restrictions imposed by the court.
