Miguel and Nuno’s Racquet Sports, which were separated for just two years, began in tennis. Their initial goal was to succeed in Sport Federer and Nadal before they focused on Padel. Interestingly, their first plan was not to compete, but to train.
“Originally we were tennis players and in 2018 we made a crossing to Padel, but at that time our goal was to actually become coaches Padel. We did not plan to continue their game career. From the first coaching days we started entering several weekend tournaments and gradually, year after a year, we started seriously.
Miguel was the one who convinced his younger brother to create a partnership.
“I would say that I, Miguel Deus, was the one who first promoted us to take this step. At that time my brother had just ended his tennis career a few months ago and wasn’t really aimed at professionally competing.
Success soon followed. Brothers Deus became the Portuguese couple No. 1, reached the semifinals at the World Championship in Fallen and became the first 100% Portuguese duo, which achieved the main draw in the premiere of Padl. They also created history as the first siblings to reach 16 in Premier Padel.
Playing as brothers add a unique dimension for them.
“Being brothers brings the whole family history. When we win, we celebrate as a family – it’s something very special. We really believe that sharing this journey, because the brothers have an extremely positive impact on our career,” Deus Brothers said.
They also emphasize their chemistry in court.
“As we always say, we are sure that being brothers bring more advantages than disadvantages.
We also have a truly unique chemistry in court, something very special that I don’t think you can have with another partner. So yes, he is fantastic to be able to compete as brothers. Of course, sometimes we have our little disagreements; It’s normal. At the end of the day, however, the advantage of being brothers and teammates definitely outweigh the disadvantages, ”they explained.
Love for India and growth fallen

“Events like WPL will help push Padl in India in India. The country has people, infrastructure and interest in sport growth. I hope Prime Minister Fallen will come to India – it would be a pleasure to play here in the tournament on the international circuit.
“We believe that leagues like this will certainly help Padel grow in countries where sport is still evolving. We know that in India is still fallen at an early stage.
He also sees Padel as a sport with long -term global potential.
“Fallen will be one of the sports sports. Tennis is still the king of missile sports, but maybe in 20-30 years it will fall on the same level. Every country is starting to play, and when it becomes an Olympic sport, its growth will accelerate, it will move in Portugal.
When it comes to their own way, Miguel and Nuno remain ground. They know they are in the later stages of their career, but still have ambitions to inspire future generations in sport.
