Indian naval stealth Frigate Frigate INS Triking arrived in Alexandria, Egypt on Monday (September 1, 2025) as part of its operating deployment to the Mediterranean.
The war ship will take part in the Exercise Bright Star 2025, the main multilateral drill organized by Egypt from 1 to 10 September.
Exercise Bright Star, under the auspices of the US central command, brings together air, soil and naval forces to increase interoperability, strengthen regional security and addresses scenarios of hybrid threats. In addition to India, Egypt and the United States, the participating nations of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Greece, Cyprus and Italy are involved. The exercises will also join the contingents from the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force, which means significant involvement of three-services.
During her port call in Alexandria, Ins Trikand will be involved in a number of professional and cultural exchanges, including meetings with higher military officials, visits to cross decks, sports events and cultural activities aimed at deepening bilateral and multilateral ties.
The deployment of INS TRIKAND underlines the focus of the Indian Navy on maritime partnership in the Mediterranean region. The purpose of upcoming port calls and joint activities is to promote interoperability, share proven procedures and strengthen cooperation against traditional and non -traditional naval challenges.
