Ins Nilgiri, the first of the indigenous buildings of the 17A Stealth Fregata, arrived in Visakhapatnam. She joined the Eastern Maritime Command and would be an integral part of the Eastern sword fleet.
Ins Nilgiri built in Mumbai, now makes the city of its home port. This state of the art war is powered by its motto – “Adrish Yabalam, Ajeya Shauryam”.
The ship was welcomed in a traditional way.
The silhouettes of Ins Nilgiri and other ships of her class, which would soon follow, will be an ordinary view of the east coast and will strengthen the Indian Navy strike.
