The Kerala High Court has sought a report from the Public Works Department (PWD) on planned repairs on the poorly maintained stretch.
Expressing displeasure over the “dilapidated and dangerous condition” of the Achencoil-Konni road that leads to Sabarimala, the Kerala High Court has asked the Public Works Department (PWD) for a report on planned repairs on the poorly maintained stretch.
He further directed the executive engineer of the PWD concerned to file a detailed statement in the court within 10 days as to why no action has been taken to repair the road till date.
The official must also submit a list of proposed steps along with a time schedule to complete the repairs, the court said, adding that this warrants prompt and immediate intervention of PWDs.
He also warned of taking appropriate action against the official concerned for willful non-compliance if necessary steps are not taken to restore the road.
