The Indian Army on Thursday (February 19, 2026) foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Sunderbani region of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.
“Based on intelligence inputs and sustained surveillance, a suspected terrorist movement was detected in the general area of Nathua Tibba, Sunderbani along the ceasefire line during the early hours of February 19, 2026. The White Knight Corps contingent responded with rapid and calibrated fire which successfully foiled the infiltration attempt,” Jamm said.
The military said troops were “appropriately redeployed and reoriented” to ensure comprehensive control of the area through integrated ground and air surveillance. “A high level of operational readiness continues to be maintained throughout the sector,” the military said.
Arrest in Poonch
Earlier in the day, a local resident in Poonch district was arrested and his weapons were confiscated.
“Based on specific and credible intelligence inputs, a joint operation by the J&K Police and CIF Romeo under the auspices of the White Knight Corps led to the swift arrest of an individual, Sachin alias Pammy, a resident of Nowshera. The operation reflects seamless coordination and actionable intelligence leading to a decisive result,” the Army said.
During the operation, according to the army, security forces seized one TISAS Zigana 9mm pistol (made in Turkey) and one TT-30 pistol (Norinco, China), two 50-round Zigana extended magazines, two pistol magazines and 15 9mm live rounds.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that this person was in direct contact with terrorists/smugglers based in Pakistan and was operating cross-border inter-state weapons rackets,” the Army said.
The Army said the arrests “effectively shattered and foiled the nefarious plans aimed at destabilizing the peaceful atmosphere in J&K”.
