
An explosion in an Indonesian mosque: Up to 54 people were injured during Friday prayers in the capital Jakarta. The November 7 explosion occurred at a mosque located inside the school complex, Reuters reported.
Shortly after the incident, city police chief Asep Edi Suheri said in a televised press conference that police were investigating the cause of the explosion at the site in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta.
Preliminary investigations revealed that several items were found at the blast site, including a body vest, firearms and bomb materials suggesting links to terrorist activity, according to media reports. Although pictures of the mosque did not show any extensive damage, the injured suffered from minor to severe burns.
