IndiGo, one of the country’s leading airlines, has been hit by operational outages that have caused at least 150 flight cancellations while several others have been delayed, affecting thousands of fliers. Several videos have emerged showing a number of passengers waiting for hours to board the plane. The chaos that continued today also affected major cities like Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Hyderabad.
The situation has resulted in growing frustration among passengers, many of whom have been left stranded at airports and claim they were not notified of changes to their travel plans in advance.
The delay caused concern among passengers. If you are one of the passengers who will be boarding the flight, here is a complete step-by-step guide on how to check your flight status.
How to use the IndiGo official website or app to track the light
Here is a simple way to check IndiGo flight status using their website and mobile app. You can do it like this:
Go to IndiGo official website: goIndiGo.in
Click on “Flight status” above.
Choose how you want to search:
By flight number: Enter your 6-digit IndiGo flight code (starting with 6E) and select your travel date.
By route: Select departure city, arrival city and travel date.
The results page shows all the key details – scheduled and updated times, terminals and current status. Delayed flights are highlighted in red so they are easy to spot.
Using the mobile app (easier option)
Download and open the IndiGo app.
Click on “Flight Status” in the bottom menu.
Enter your flight details as you would on the website.
The app is more user-friendly, with larger buttons and clear status updates.
The budget carrier attributes the disruption to several factors, including technological glitches, crew shortages due to updated crew rostering regulatory requirements, among others.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the airline’s operations and has asked for an explanation and a clear plan to resolve the persistent glitches.
