
IndiGo announced on Friday, March 6 that the airlines have decided to extend free cancellation waivers due to travel disruptions due to tensions in the Middle East. IndiGo has suggested that the deadline for a full waiver has been extended to March 31, 2026 for the affected flights and has urged passengers to monitor their flight status on ‘ and be informed of planned travel plans. This free cancellation is offered for flights to and from the Middle East and Istanbul.
In an interview with X, IndiGo said, “As the situation in the Middle East remains volatile, IndiGo is extending the free cancellation waivers until March 31, 2026” in view of the volatile situation in the region.
The statement added: “Exemptions – The full cancellation exemption is extended for travel to and from the Middle East and Istanbul until 31 March 2026.” The airline has also issued a customer contact center number +91 124 6173838 to provide additional support, clarification and address passenger queries.
IndiGo and other Indian carriers such as Air India, SpiceJet and Akasa Air have resumed some of their operations in the Middle East. Flights from Dubai International Airport, Jeddah and Fujairah have been resumed to metro cities like Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. However, services of most Middle East-based airlines, including Emirates, Qatar Airways and Etihad, continue to remain suspended except for a few special flights.
SpiceJet promotional flights from UAE are scheduled for March 6
SpiceJet said in a statement that it will operate 13 flights from Fujairah and one from Dubai on March 6. “SpiceJet will operate fourteen special flights from the UAE on March 6 to facilitate the return of stranded Indian nationals,” SpiceJet said.
To help stranded passengers return home as soon as possible, SpiceJet is operating nine special flights from Fujairah to Mumbai, four special flights from Fujairah to Delhi and one special flight from Dubai to Pune.

Dubai International Airport said on Thursday that passengers without a confirmed departure time will not be allowed on the premises. A statement on the X website said: “Most flights remain suspended. Please do not arrive at the airport until your airline confirms your departure time. Guests without a confirmed flight may not be able to access the terminals. Please contact your airline directly for the latest information on your flight.”
