Rahul Bhatia-controlled domestic carrier IndiGo on Monday (December 8, 2025) canceled 562 flights from six metro airports, with 150 cancellations coming from the Bengaluru airport alone, according to sources.
As the carrier struggles to resume normal operations after canceling hundreds of flights since last Tuesday (December 2, 2025), a disruption caused by regulatory changes affecting thousands of passengers, its on-time performance improved to 79.9% on Sunday (December 7, 2025), when it operated 1,650 flights and canceled 650.
IndiGo has already canceled 560 of its 2,300 daily flights from six metro airports on Monday (December 8, 2025), sources said. The airline operates flights to and from approximately 90 domestic airports and more than 40 international airports.
The number of cancellations from other airports was not available. The figure is higher than estimates provided by the Civil Aviation Ministry, which said earlier in the day that the carrier intends to operate 1,802 flights in addition to canceling 500 services on Monday (Dec 8).
IndiGo, for its part, did not disclose the number of services it canceled on Monday (December 8). Of the 560 cancellations, IndiGo canceled 76 arrivals and 74 departures from Bengaluru and 83 departures and 60 arrivals from Delhi, sources told PTI.
At Mumbai and Hyderabad airports, 98 (50 arrivals and 48 departures) and 112 (58 arrivals and 54 departures) were cancelled, they added. While only two IndiGo flights were canceled at the Kolkata airport on Monday (Dec 8), the number of canceled flights at the Chennai airport stood at 56 arrivals and departures, sources added.
