India’s annual defense exports have reached an all-time high of ₹ 38,424 crore in the financial year 2025-2026, an increase of over 62% over the previous fiscal, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday (2 Apr 2026).

The “big leap” in defense exports reflects growing “global confidence” in India’s defense capabilities, Mr Singh said in a social media post, adding that the country was “staging an impressive defense export success story”.
“India’s defense exports have hit a new all-time high at a record ₹ 38,424 crore in FY 2025-26. This represents a robust 62.66% growth over the previous fiscal year,” the defense minister said.
“This big jump in defense exports at ₹ 14,802 crore reflects growing global confidence in India’s indigenous capabilities and advanced manufacturing strength,” he said.
With DPSUs (Defence Public Sector Undertakings) contributing 54.84% and private industry 45.16%, this milestone shows the strength of a collaborative and self-sustaining defense ecosystem, he said.
India’s defense exports in 2024-25 were ₹23,622 crore in 2024-25. It was ₹21,083 crore in 2023-24.
