On Friday, the business and Minister of Industry Piyush Goyal, who led the team, will return. The team arrived in New York on Monday to talk about the proposed business agreement between the two countries.
Interviews are held at different levels and include business and non -linked problems.
Goyal was accompanied by higher officials of the Ministry, including a special secretary and the main Indian negotiator Rajesh Agrawal.
“The Indian official team is back from the US,” the clerk said.
Goyal led a discussion with his American counterpart.
This visit comes against the background of recently closed all -day discussions in Nový Delhi between the US main negotiator Brendan Lynch and Agrawal on the proposed bilateral trade agreement.
On September 16, the Ministry of Commerce said that all -day discussions with the visiting American team on the bilateral commercial agreement were positive and both parties agreed to enforce the timely and mutually favorable conclusion of the agreement.
A visit to high -ranking US business officials came after the deposit of 25 % of the tariff and another 25 % of the sentences for Indian goods entering the US market for buying Russian oil.
The visit also took meaning in the middle of the sudden decision of the US administration to increase the fee for H-1B visa to $ 1.00,000.
Nasscom said on Saturday that the US move will be affected by Indian technological services, as the continuity of business will be disrupted for land projects that may require “modifications”.
In February this year, the leaders of both countries ordered officials to negotiate the proposed bilateral trade agreement (BTA).
It was planned to close the first trance of the Pact until autumn (October-List November) from 2025. Five rounds have been held. The Pact focuses on more than double the two -sided trade to $ 500 billion by 2030 from the current $ 191 billion.
Goyal previously visited Washington in May for business interviews. During this visit, he organized negotiations with the Minister of Trade Howard Lutnice and the American sales representative Jamieson Greer.
In 2024-25, the US remained the largest business partner in India for the fourth consecutive year, with bilateral trade worth $ 131.84 billion ($ 86.5 billion).
The US represents approximately 18 % of total exports between Indian goods, 6.22 % in imports and 10.73 % in total goods trade.
