The White House’s advisor Peter Navarro said that Indian purchases of Russian raw raw materials funded the war of Moscow in Ukraine and had to stop and added that the new Delhi was “now to Russia and China”.
“If India wants to be treated as a US strategic partner, it must start to be one,” Mr. Navarro wrote in an opinion published in the Financial Times.

The Ministry of External Affairs has previously stated that India is unfairly selected for the purchase of Russian oil, while the United States and the European Union continue to buy goods from Russia. At the beginning of this month, US President Donald Trump took another 25% tariff on Indian goods and quoted continued purchases of Russian oil in Nový Delhi, while the total tariffs for imports from India to 50%.
“India acts as a global clearinghouse for Russian oil and converts the raw embargoing into exports with a high value and at the same time gives Moscow the dollars it needs,” Mr. Navarro said.

The advisor also said it was risky to convert top American military skills to India because the new Delhi was “now Cozuy to Russia and China”.
At the end of the month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, while Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has been visiting India since Monday (August 18, 2025) for interviews on the controversial border between the two countries.

The planned visit to US trade negotiators in Nový Dilli from 25 to 29 August was taken away, said the source at the weekend, postponed interviews about the proposed trade agreement and the disgusting hopes of relief from other American tariffs to Indian goods from August 27.
