
Indian-Origin Tech Entrepreneur Balaji Srinivasan bought a private island near Singapore to build what he calls “Network condition“- a decentralized, digital company for techniques, creators and founders.
Srinivasan, a former CTO Coinbase and co -founder of Multiple Silicon Valley Ventures, assumes a future where online communities with shared values are developing into worldwide recognized nations. His project, which once sounded as a futuristic thought experiment, now takes place on a real island with real people and creates quite buzzing, Techcrunch reported.

The island is home to the “network school”, a three -month residential program that combines business, technology and personal transformation. Participants, manually selected for their ambitions and unconventional thinking, wake up to the gym and spend the day participating in workshops about artificial intelligence, blockchain and startup innovation.
“We have an island. Right. We now have a beautiful island near Singapore where we build a network school,” Srinivasan said on X.
New kind of nation
Srinivasan’s long -term goal? Build a non-border, crowd nation for digital nomads and technically proficient Changemakers-Concept, which outlined in his book 2022 The Network State. According to him, the idea of creating a self-blind community that first exists online, then claiming physical territory and finally negotiate global recognition.

One participant, the creator of Nick Peterson content, shared a virtual tour on the island and described it as “oasis for rats in the gym and founder of the startup”. He added: “I lived in this real life experiment called Network School, where we somehow tested how the creation of a new nation would feel.”
Srinivasan says the school is designed to support society of the “victory-and-loved” society focused on truth, health and wealth. The island curriculum is deeply rooted in their wider mission to re -evaluate management at digital age.
Who is Balaji Srinivasan?
Balaji Srinivasan was born to parents of doctors Tamil-Origin in New York, has several degrees in electric and chemical engineering at Stanford University. Over the past two decades, he has co-founded and supported several important technology companies-including Counsyl, Earn.com and Teleport-A invested soon in Bitcoins, Ethereum, Opensea and Alchemy.

44-year-old is one of the more provocative thinkers of Silicon Valley, the often diverging debate with its criticism of traditional institutions and its pressure on decentralized systems. Critics compared his idea of a “net nation” to modern technocopianism or even the colonialism of the digital age-but Srinivasan remains unharmed.
In 2024, he launched the first network school on this Southeast Asian island with future campuses planned for Dubai, Tokyo and Miami.
“We are looking for remote workers, digital creators, personal trainers, developers – people who want to earn crypto, build things, burn calories and have fun,” he said in the recruitment post.
