The Embassy of India in Doha, Qatar, said on social media platform X that it would be open on Friday-Saturday (March 13-14) “to meet all needs, especially for Tatkal-based passport renewals”. The statement came as the war between the US, Israel and Iran continued for the 13th day.
The embassy also advised that it continues to facilitate temporary transit visas valid for 96 hours for Saudi Arabia. The visa is for Indian nationals who have been on a ‘visit visa’ to Qatar and wish to depart via Saudi Arabia.

“Registration in this regard can be done through the link available on our social media channels”, the embassy said.
He added that Indian nationals wishing to travel from Qatar continue to have the option “either to use the limited number of flights operated by Qatar Airways or fly through the Salwa border to Saudi Arabia, subject to a valid Saudi visa”.
The embassy also informed that on Thursday, March 12, about 700 Indian nationals flew to India on two Qatar Airways flights, one each to Delhi and Mumbai and other destinations.
“One to two Qatar Airways flights to India are expected daily in the coming days,” the Indian embassy in Qatar said.
The embassy also asked the Indian community to follow the recommendations issued by the Qatari authorities “which confirm the stability of markets across the state and the availability of all essential goods in retail outlets”.
“Everyone is urged to act responsibly, not to be fooled by rumors or stockpiling unnecessarily, and to buy only what is necessary to meet real needs,” the embassy said.
Qatari airspace closed but traffic restricted
Qatar Airways said its flights will remain temporarily suspended due to the closure of Qatari airspace.
However, following a temporary permit from the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, which allowed for limited operating corridors, “Qatar Airways plans to operate selected flights in the coming days to support passengers affected by the service disruption”.

“These flights do not constitute confirmation of the resumption of scheduled commercial operations,” Qatar Airways. “To book these flights and for the latest flight updates, please visit the Qatar Airways website or app or contact your travel agent,” he added.
He added that passengers with confirmed bookings between February 28 and March 22, 2026 can choose two free date changes (up to +14 days from the original travel date) or a refund of unused ticket value.

Don’t go to the airport if…
Earlier in the day, Hamad International Airport reminded passengers not to proceed to the airport unless they have a valid and confirmed ticket. “Passengers without confirmed tickets may not be able to access the terminal,” X wrote.
“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the current situation, which is beyond our control, and thank our passengers for their patience and understanding,” the airport said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the airline warned its customers against accounts impersonating Qatar Airways.
“Our only official X accounts are @QatarAirways and @QRSupport, both of which are verified with a gold tick. Always confirm the handle before replying and do not click on suspicious links from unknown accounts,” Qatar Airways said.
