Two climbers – one Indian and one of the Philippines – died of the highest peak of the mountain in the world, Mount Everest, which meant the first death of the current march – the flow of climbing, Reuters said. Subrata Ghosh, 45 years old, from India, died on Thursday under Hillary Step, while he descended after the peak of 8,849 meters (29,032 feet).
“He refused to descend from under Hillary’s step,” says Reuters Bodhraj Bhandari from Nepal Snowy Horizon and Expedition Organization Company.
The Hillary step is located in the “fatal zone”, the region between the southern column to 8,000 meters (26,250 feet) and the peak where the natural oxygen level is too low to maintain human life.
“There is an effort to bring his body to the base camp. The cause of his death will only be known after the post,” Bhandari said.
Philipp II Santiago, 45, from the Philippines, died late on Wednesday in South Col, while Him Gautam, an official of the Ministry of Tourism, rose.
Santiago was tired when he reached the fourth high camp and died as he rested in his tent, Gautam added.
Santiago and Ghos were both members of an international expedition organized by Bhandari.
Nepal issued 459 permission to climb Everest during the current season, which ends in May. Almost 100 climbers and their guides have already reached its peak this week.
At least 345 people died of Everest more than 100 years since it was known that the expedition summit began, according to the Himalayan database and tourist officials.
