
The airspace above the Andaman and Nicobar islands was closed for three hours on Friday at 7 am to facilitate the weapons test with a high altitude conducted by the Tri-Services command, PTI reported.

The commander of the Head of Andaman and Nicobar said PTI: “As today, the air space around and around Andaman and Nicobar islands will be closed for three hours tomorrow (from 7:00 to 10:00).
“The airspace around and around Andaman Islands and Nicobar with a maximum corridor length of about 500 km will be limited between 01:30 and 04:30 Universal Time coordinated by UTC (7:00 and 10:00 IS) 23 and 24.
In connection with the closure of the airspace, the clerk said: “Today we have successfully conducted a high altitude weapon test and a similar test was performed tomorrow.
Command Andaman and Nicobar (ANC) is the only TRI-SERVICES command in India.
