IndiGo, Air India Express, Air India and Akasa Air on Tuesday (October 13, 2026) announced the cancellation of flights connecting Saudi Arabian cities till October 17 in view of the evolving situation in the Gulf country.

There have been attacks in Saudi Arabia, including at Riyadh airport, in recent days.

In a post on X on Tuesday (October 13, 2026), IndiGo said that due to the evolving situation in Saudi Arabia, flights to and from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah are canceled until October 17.

“Due to the evolving situation in the region, we have canceled flights to and from Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh until October 17. Affected guests are being offered free rescheduling or cancellation refunds. We continue to monitor the situation closely,” Air India Express said in a statement.

Announcing the cancellation of flights to and from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah until October 17, Air India also said it was closely monitoring and evaluating developments in the region with a view to resuming safe operations.

The airline said in a post on X that it is offering full refunds to affected passengers in the event of a flight cancellation.

Akasa Air said it has extended the suspension of all flights to and from Riyadh and Jeddah until October 17 in view of the escalating security situation in West Asia and the associated risks to safe flight operations.

“This decision follows a careful evaluation of the evolving situation, with security remaining a primary consideration. We continue to closely monitor developments and assess the situation in real time,” the post on X said.

Last week, airlines temporarily suspended flights to Riyadh following attacks on the city’s airport, allegedly by Houthi militants.

Hostilities between the Iran-backed Houthi group and Saudi Arabia have escalated. There have been armed drone and missile attacks.
