India will play the biggest bilateral tour of New Zealand in the landmark year

India are set for an extensive tour of New Zealand later this year, with both sides scheduled to play a 12-match series between October 22 and December 1 across all formats. which includes five T20 Internationals, five One Day Internationals and two Test matcheswill be the biggest men’s bilateral series New Zealand has ever hosted and the most matches the country has played against a visiting team.

The milestone coincides with the centenary celebrations of sporting relations between India and New Zealand and adds further significance to an already high-profile competition. The action will begin with the first T20I in Christchurch on October 22. After completing the five-match T20I leg, the teams will focus on the ODI series starting on November 4 at Eden Park in Auckland.

The red-ball segment of the tour begins in Wellington, where the opening Test will be played at Basin Reserve from November 19-23. The second and final Test is scheduled for Christchurch’s Hagley Oval from November 27 to December 1, bringing the 40-day tour to a close.

The Test series will also mark India’s first visit to New Zealand for a red-ball assignment since the 2019-20 campaign. In the following years, New Zealand traveled to India on two occasions, including their memorable 2024-25 tour, which saw them record a stunning 3-0 in the Test series.

The tour is part of wider celebrations recognizing 100 years of sporting association between the two nations, with the New Zealand government supporting the initiative along with several other India-related sporting events planned for later this year.
