India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup Match: After weeks of suspense, the India vs Pakistan match in the group stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup series has been given the go-ahead and fans are furious to fly to Colombo as soon as possible.

The India vs Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup match will be played on Sunday, February 15 in Colombo. Fans are eagerly waiting for the match, considered to be one of the biggest clashes in cricket.

The confirmation of the India Pakistan match not only saved the tournament from possible financial failure but also caused a steep rise in ticket prices to Colombo as fans rushed to book tickets to the city to watch the India vs Pakistan match live.

India vs Pakistan: Flight prices skyrocket

Soon after the announcement of the India vs Pakistan T20 match in Colombo, flight tickets to the Sri Lankan capital saw a surge. Air fares from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru have sky rocketed as fans rush to book tickets for the India Pakistan T20 match live at 7 PM on Sunday.

The match, which is scheduled for 19:00 (local time) at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, is witnessing an unprecedented last-minute rush, as announced after much back-and-forth between the committees and the teams.

Delhi-Colombo flight price

A one-way flight from Delhi to Colombo that usually stops around 30,000, price up to 1.10 lakh in economy class with Air India. In business class, prices range up to 2.25 lakh for a single Air India ticket.

For SriLankan Airlines, the same journey is touching 1.39 lakh in economy class and 2.09 million in business class.

Mumbai-Colombo flight price

The seven-hour one-way flight from Mumbai to Colombo also saw maximum fares up to above 84,000 in economy class on Air India.

Current fares apply to SriLankan Airlines 64,000 for a one-way economy class trip and 1.39 million in business class.

Bengaluru-Colombo flight price

The last-minute rush has also resulted in an increase in flights from Bengaluru to Colombo. However, the impact is not that strong considering the short distance.

An Air India flight covering eight hours of travel will cost 86,000 in economy class, according to the airline’s website.

Before flying to Sri Lanka, India have their second Group A match against Namibia in New Delhi on Thursday. There they will face Pakistan in a mega clash.

It marks a quick turnaround for Sunday’s match, the biggest and most lucrative clash in world cricket.

The Pakistan government on Monday ordered its national cricket team to take the field on February 15 for their scheduled match against defending champions India in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The decision came after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi, according to a Pakistan government statement, briefed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the outcome of high-level talks between the PCB, the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
