
India and Pakistan are all set for an incredible encounter at the FIFA World Cup T20 2026 on Sunday, February 15, with eyes on the R Premadasa Stadium. The match in Colombo is expected to decide who finishes top of Group A, but bragging rights will also be at stake.
However, all the excitement of the match soon wore off when the Sri Lankan Meteorological Department announced that Sunday’s game could be seriously threatened by rain. The ministry, through its Natural Hazards Early Warning Centre, said a low pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal.
“A low pressure area is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal around February 15,” the Sri Lanka Meteorological Department said in a statement.
Accuweather has predicted a few showers at 5pm on Sunday, but rain is not expected to affect the game as it is likely to be cloudy with temperatures hovering around 27C and humidity expected to remain in the low to mid 70s.
Meteorologist Navdeep Dahiya has now given a new update which will come as a relief to cricket fans.
WHAT IS DAHIYA UPDATE ON IND VS PAK?
Dahiya said one or two moderate showers or thunderstorms are expected between the afternoon and evening hours. Dahiya also said weather conditions will improve after 6pm on Sunday. While he said it will remain partly cloudy, no rain is expected throughout the game.

Speaking about the weather during his press conference, Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha admitted that the rain was not in their hands and they were looking forward to the match.
