India vs Malaysia Live Updates, Asian Champions Trophy: India look to consolidate grip on top spot

India will take on Malaysia in a battle of unbeaten sides in the fourth league match of the Asian Champions Trophy at Jalandhar’s Olympian Surjit Singh Hockey Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams have won all three matches so far, with India sitting above Malaysia on goal difference. The clash will be crucial as they look to secure a top-two finish and boost their chances of reaching the semi-finals.

Harmanpreet Singh led the Indian side with five goals from penalty corners, while Abhishek and Mandeep Singh scored three times each. Meanwhile, Malaysia will rely on Abu Kamal Azrai who netted four goals, with Akhimullah Anuar and Azimuddin Kamaruddin contributing three each.

India needed a late surge to beat Japan 4-1 in their previous match. After a tight opening three quarters, Harmanpreet broke the deadlock in the final third with a powerful move. Abhishek and Vishnukant Singh also found the net as India pulled away.

The hosts opened their campaign with a commanding 13-0 win over Bangladesh before beating China 5-2. Malaysia also enjoyed a perfect run and set up an interesting match between two formal sides of the tournament.

With the top four teams progressing to the semi-finals, both sides will be keen to maintain their winning momentum and strengthen their position in the league table.
