India vs Afghanistan Live Score, U-19 World Cup 2026 Semi-Final: Faisal Shinozada and Uzairullah Niazai thrashed Afghanistan U-19 with an impressive 310 for 4 against India in their ICC U-19 World Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
Afghanistan’s 310 is a formidable total and sets up a stern test for India, with Shinozada starring to perfection while Niazai provided the late fireworks with an unbeaten hundred.
After being asked to bat first, Afghanistan got off to a cautious start, managing just 42 runs in the first 10 overs. Openers Osman Sadat and Khalid Ahmadzai laid the foundation and added 53 for the first wicket before Ahmadzai was caught by Abhigyan Kundu off Deepesh Devendran for 31.
Sadat continued his plunder but fell for 39 off 70 balls, caught by Deepesh Devendran off Kanishk Chouhan, leaving Afghanistan 117 for 2 in the 25th over.
That brought Shinozada and Niazai together and the duo put together the defining partnership of the innings – a commanding 148-run stand that decisively swung in Afghanistan’s favour. Shinozada, who scored a century in his previous outing, again showed poise and consistency as he compiled 110 off 93 balls with 15 fours. His batting provided stability in the middle overs before being bowled by Devendran in the 46th over to complete back-to-back hundreds.
While Shinozada held one end, Niazai relaxed on the other. The right-hander remained unbeaten on 101 off 86 deliveries, hitting 12 fours and two sixes, and accelerated sharply in the closing stages despite receiving treatment on his left arm during the innings.
Azizullah Miakhil chipped in with a brisk 12 before being dismissed by Chouhan, while Abdul Aziz finished strongly with an unbeaten seven off three balls as Afghanistan crossed the 300-run mark.
For India, Devendran (2/64) and Chouhan (2/55) were the only wickets. Khilan Patel was the most economical conceding just 49 runs in his 10 overs while Henil Patel and RS Ambrish despite persistent wicketless spells.
A late surge by Afghanistan, fueled by the power of Niazai, saw them amass 193 runs for the last two wickets, turning a steady platform into a commanding total.
India will now need a disciplined chase to keep their title hopes alive, with Afghanistan firmly in check after batting based on patience, partnership and power.
