
A specialized team at Washington has arrived at a high level from the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry to continue the decisive negotiations on the bilateral trade agreement (BTA) with the United States.
Four days of discussions will start on Monday morning (US time).
Rajesh Aggarwal, the chief negotiator and the special secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, will join the interviews on Wednesday, with a preliminary team that has already reported on the basis of proceedings and procedural affairs.
Discussion objective
The aim of these planned discussions is aimed at reducing differences in sectors, such as agriculture and cars, looking for a mutually favorable contract for both parties.
This development comes when Donald Trump’s Administration decided to avoid the introduction of other tariffs into several countries, including India within 1 August, and both parties now have the next time to negotiate the agreement.

The United States is one of the largest Indian business partners. India continues to appear as a key destination for US companies that want to expand their global track.

In its third edition “Trade Watch Quarterly”, Aayog said on Monday that the US markets would be the main opportunities for India, both in terms of the number of products and volume.
Government Think Tank said that the agreement should include strong provisions for digital trade by creating a framework for increased cross -border services.
The body also emphasized that India must advocate an improved visa approach for its experts, especially in the H-1B and L-1 categories.
Thanks to the growing global demand for digitally provided services, Aayog said that India should strive to access the US market in high growth areas such as cyber security, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and design services, PTI said.
