India and the US have agreed to expand defensive links, with interviews on a new ten-year framework in India-USA 2+2 InteSessional dialogue held on Monday (August 25, 2025).
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), another Secretary (America) Nagaraj Naida Kakanur in Mea and a common secretary (international cooperation) of the Ministry of Defense Vishwesh Negi, he chaired a virtual dialogue along with a higher official for the South and Central Asian Affany J.
“Both parties were looking forward to increasing defense cooperation, including the signing of a new ten-year framework for the main defense partnership in India, also developing defense industrial, scientific and technological cooperation; operational coordination; regional cooperation and information sharing,” the ministry said.
Participants agreed to build on the progress made in these areas under the auspices of India-USA Compact (Catalyzing Opportusing for Military Partnership, Accelerated Trade and Technology) for the 21st Century and Further, added.
The chairs reaffirmed their commitment to promote safer, stronger and prosperous Indo-Pacific region through a quad.
The dialogue was closed by expressing their chairs for its recognition as productive meetings and eagerness to continue to increase the width and depth of a bilateral relationship in a way that benefits to Indian nations and the US, added.
