
Jan Theesleff, Ambassador of Sweden in India, said on Tuesday that economic ties between two nations are growing rapidly, reflecting the additional strengths and mutual benefits of partnership.
“Our cooperation is focused on the future, anchored in innovation, green transition and sustainability. When we refer to 20 years of scientific and technological cooperation, we are proud to be able to manage common breakthroughs, space techniques, life sciences and e-mobility in National Capital 9 September.
The event emphasizes the growing business, investment and innovation opportunities between India and Sweden and underlines the deepening strategic cooperation between Swedish and Indian companies.
“I want to commit myself today. We should double and actually triple trade and investment between the two nations,” TheShleff said at the event.
280 Swedish companies
According to the Swedish issues of the embassy, more than 280 Swedish companies are currently operating in India, which actively contributes to the economic and sustainability of the country. These companies employ more than 220,000 people directly in India, while another 2.2 million people are indirectly employed, especially through investment in local production and sources.
Sweden also introduced the event as a leader of global innovation and emphasized opportunities for cooperation in science, technology and sustainability.
Sven Östberg, the general consul of Sweden in Mumbai, was also present at the event.
