India’s best player was teenager Prithika Pradeep, who shot six perfect tens, including two flawless ends. However, veteran archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam had an off day as she managed just three-tenths of her eight arrows, hurting India’s chances.Colombia’s Alejandra Usquiano proved to be the difference as she hit eight consecutive 10s to lead her team to victory. Former world champion Sara Lopez wasn’t at her best, but Usquian’s consistency kept Colombia in check throughout the contest.India still have an opportunity to add to their medal tally later in the tournament. Prithika reached the semifinals of the women’s composite singles and is one win away from winning another medal. The Recurve team also remains in contention. Teenager Kirti Sharma, who made her World Cup debut in Antalya last month, advanced to the women’s semi-finals and will also team up with India’s No. 1 Dhiraj Bommadevara in the mixed team recurve play-off, giving her a chance to end the tournament with two medals.
