
India “took” US sanctions on Indian societies that trade in Iranian petrochemical products, a government spokesman said.
Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for the Ministry of External Affairs, commented on US sanctions against Indian companies on Friday and said the government was reviewing the situation. However, he did not comment on the remark of US President Donald Trump about future Indian oil purchases from Pakistan.
When he talked about sanctions with Indian companies trading with Iran, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs quoted as: “We took note of sanctions, we look at it.”
Sanctions on Indian companies
On July 30, Trump’s administration announced sanctions against “entities traded in Iran’s oil” influenced at least six companies based in India and seven other according to the official edition.

As for Trump’s comment that India could one day buy oil from Pakistan, Jaiswal said: “I have no comments on this matter.”
The reaction of the ministry comes almost a day after President Trump announced a trade agreement with Pakistan on his official right designer.
“We have just concluded an agreement with the country of Pakistan, when Pakistan and the United States will cooperate on the development of their massive oil reserves,” Trump wrote.
He emphasized the possibility that Pakistan would expand the regional trade and noted, “Who knows may sell India oil one day!”
