India has successfully tested the released advanced underwater naval mine designed to strengthen the Navy’s abilities against modern secret ships and submarines.
Development came in the middle of the growing tension between India and Pakistan over the terrorist attack of Pahalgam.

“Defense research organization (DrDdo) and Indian Navy have successfully carried out combat shooting (with reduced explosive) natives proposed and developed multiple ground mines (MiGM),” the Ministry of Defense said on Monday (May 5, 2025).
He said that the system is an advanced underwater naval mine developed by maritime science and technology laboratory Visakhapatnam in cooperation with other laboratories of DrDO.
The MiGM is designed to strengthen the ability of the Indian Navy against modern secret ships and submarines. Bharat Dynamics Limited, Visakhapatnam and Apollo Microsystems Limited, Hyderabad are manufacturing partners of the system.
The computed bunny, the Indian Navy and the industry, the Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh said that the system would further strengthen the underwater war abilities of the Indian Navy.
