“The unfortunate incident (in Nepal) happened after a moraine breached on the Nepal-Tibetan border and probably there was not enough information about Nepal and they could not take the required safety measures in terms of moving people to safer places or releasing water from dams to prevent this stronger current of war from a glacial blast,” Chaudhary said. “However, on the Indian side, due to early information, water was released from the Gandak and Kosi dams in a controlled manner to limit the major impact here.”
