India ODI World Cup 2027 Schedule: Complete Schedule, Venues & Details

India will open their 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup campaign against defending champions Australia at Newlands in Cape Town on October 7, the International Cricket Council announced on Thursday. Shubman Gill’s team were placed in Group A alongside Australia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and Qualifier A.

A blockbuster clash against arch-rivals Pakistan to be followed three days later at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on 10 October. India will then take on Afghanistan at the Centurion in Tshwane on October 14 and take on Qualifier A in Bloemfontein on October 17. Their final match in the group stage will be against co-hosts Zimbabwe at the newly built Victoria Falls Stadium on 24 October.

India have been pre-seeded A1 for the Super 7 stage. If they advance from the group stage, they are scheduled to face Australia in Victoria Falls on 28 October, South Africa in Johannesburg on 31 October, New Zealand in Paarl on 4 November, Pakistan in Cape Town on 7 November, England in Gqeberha on 11 November and Sri Lanka in Durban on 14 November.

Co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, the 2027 FIFA World Cup will begin on October 2. The group stage will be followed by the Super 7 stage, where the leading teams will advance to the knockout stages. The first semi-final is scheduled for November 17 in Cape Town, with the second semi-final taking place in Centurion on November 18. The tournament will conclude with the final at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on November 21.

For India, the tournament begins with two high-profile matches against Australia and Pakistan before taking on Afghanistan, Qualifier A and Zimbabwe in the rest of the group stage. Gill’s side will need to get through the opening stages successfully before turning their attention to the Super 7 round and knockout stages.
