On Monday (September 22, 2025), India and Morocco signed a memorandum of understanding (MY) on defensive cooperation in Rabat, while the Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh also announced the opening of a new defensive wing at India in Moroccan capital.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Mr. Singh and the Minister of Defense of Morocco Abdeltif Loudiya organized a bilateral meeting.
According to the Ministry of Defense, it creates a memorandum for a robust institutional framework for expanding ties, preparing a way for cooperation in the defense industry, joint exercises, military training and capacity building. Both ministers agreed to strengthen cooperation in the defense industry on the basis of a comprehensive plan that covers counter -permanent terrorism, maritime safety, cyber defense, peace operations, military medicine and professional exchanges.
To make these initiatives, Mr. Singh announced the opening of a new defense wing at India in Rabat. He emphasized the maturity of the Indian defense industry, emphasized advanced skills in areas such as drones and systems with values, and assured that Indian companies are in good position to support Morocco’s defense requirements.
Both leaders also emphasized the importance of improved armed forces, specialized educational programs and opportunities for joint development and co -production. They also emphasized the need for greater multilateral cooperation to solve regional and global security problems and welcomed closer coordination in maritime security through the Indian Ocean and Atlantic corridors, the Ministry of Defense said.
The Minister of Defense expanded the invitation of Mr. Loudiyi to visit India for further discussions. The meeting presents an important milestone in the growing strategic convergence between India and Morocco, strengthens their long -term friendships and shares a commitment to peace and stability.
