
India won the famous act at 2. The archers at the World Cup in Shanghai, and a team of men led by an unforgettable campaign, which on Saturday, May 10, on Saturday 10th May, came back with three medals, including gold.
Men’s composed team – qualifying Abhishek Verma and Ojas Deotale, along with young Rishabhe Yadav – caused compound and clinical performance in the finals. During the thrilling meeting, they set out around Mexico 232–228 to claim the gold medal, which underlines the dominance of India in a folded discipline.
It was an end-to-end battle against a strong Mexican side, but the Indian trio held its nerve with precise shooting in the final ends to ensure a historical victory in Shanghai.
In the final of the female compound team, the Indian trio of Jyothi Arekha Vennam, Madhura Dhamangaonkar and Chikitha Taniparthi began a witty struggle, but after a loss of 221-234 they had to settle for silver at the exhibition of the Mexican team that dominated since the beginning.
Meanwhile, the Indian combined mixed team – the feeling of Abhishek Verma and Madhura Dhamangaonkar – returned strongly after the final. They secured the bronze medal convincingly defeating Malaysia in the third place and added another stage to the growing Indian archery.
These consistent performances are only the latest chapter in the Indian growing story of archery. At the first phase of the World Cup in the US, India has already packed four medals, including silver in the team event of men and bronze promising Archer Dhiraj Bommadevar in the individual category Recurve.
Set with folded archery to debut the Olympic debut in a mixed team format at Los Angeles in 2028, the current India trajectory offers real hope that it will have the first Olympic medal in sport.
