India is working on the “Military Universe doctrine”, which is likely to be carried out in two to three months, said Defense CEO Anil Chauhan on Monday (April 7, 2025). “We are also working on national military cosmic policy,” he said.
At his inauguration address in the third edition of the Indian Deface Symposium, the head of the Defense Staff (CDS) emphasized the reforms of the cosmic sector carried out in recent years and the works of the defensive space agency.
The CD also said that humanity is on the “peak of the era”, where there is space as a new domain of war, and has built for the development of “space culture”, which includes developing doctrines, research and introduction of reserved war schools.
“The defense universe agency is working on the launch of the military universe doctrine, which should perhaps be out in two or three months. We are also working on national military cosmic policy,” the CD said at a defense and space experts. General Chauhan also mentioned government consent to the 52-sector constellation for the defensive sector, whose 31 satellites will be built by the private sector. “We will run 52 satellites for intelligence, supervision and survey in cooperation with the Indian cosmic research organization (ISRA) and the private sector,” he said.
Defense Space Agency at work on an integrated satellite communication network to alleviate current restrictions and “prepare for the future”, he said. He stressed that military space operations are decisive for identifying potential threats for national security. These threats can come from state or non -state actors and vulnerability can exceed the space system.
