India heads for the second test against West India in Nový Delhi with a slight dilemma of choosing on their hands. After sealing and Commanding the victory of shifts in the opener of the series In Ahmedabad last week, India will approach the final match of the series of two tests with a lot of confidence. However, several key selection calls will focus because they are trying to wrap their homework for high than to go on a so much expected tour of Australia.
One of the main points of speaking recently has been Jasprit Bumhrah’s workload management. It remains to find out if the Spearhead pace will give a green light to play the second test. Many were surprised by his inclusion in the series against West India, due to the expectations of unilateral competitions. However, Bumrah led an attack in Ahmedabad test and played a key role in the Indian victory.
As the discussion of the team selection continues, former Indian goalkeeper Pardiv Patel suggested that Mohammed Siraj could be ahead of the Australian tour. Patel pointed out that Siraj is part of a one-day international team for the three-match series starting with 19 October. Meanwhile, Bumrah has been rested from the ODI series, but will return in five T20i in Australia since October 29.
Patel also stated that India could try to use Nitish Kumar Reddy as a bowling option in the second test. The young versatile player performed in the Ahmedabad match, but only four exceeded.
“It is a difficult situation. Jasprit Bumrah lies from the ODI series against Australia, but I expect it to appear in the second test.
“For the second test, I would like to see the nitish use more like both dough and pitch. On the 3rd day of the last test he had a chance for a few exceeded, but he had not enough opportunities. This is something India could explore,” he added.
It remains to be found whether India will go this way, especially since Bumrah entered the series against Western India immediately after playing in Asia Cup last month. Siraj, on the other hand, was rested during the Asia Cup, but was strongly used during the Indian tour of England early this year. He was the only quick pitch on both sides to play all five tests in this series and led an attack in the final in Bumhrah’s absence.
India also has the possibility of Fielding Prasidh Krishna if they decide to relax one of their two frontline pacers for the second test in the new Delhi. With the morning in the capital, Pacers can find some help early. According to the PTI report, curators are convinced that they will create a good launch pitch that starts offering rotations from 3rd day.
Sai Sudharasan to play?
Meanwhile, the patelled downplayed the likelihood that Devdutt Padikkal had replaced Sai Sudharsan, but warned that Tamil had a dough to start his chances of counting earlier than later.
“As far as Devdutt Padikkal is concerned, because of the current line -up and the role of Sai Sudharsan at number three, Padikkal could wait for his chance. Sai Sudharsan will have to earn on this occasion.”
Sudharsan, who made his debut in England, recorded 147 runs in four tests on average 21. The team leadership seems to last 3 and hopes that the young left -handed can settle in what is probably one of the most difficult positions in the test cricket.
