
England and India wore black bracelets in the first headingley test, as a sign of respect for victims of air accidents in Ahmedabad in June. Indian captain Shaubman Gill, his English counterpart Ben Stokes and the rest of their teammates were seen on black bracelets as they entered an iconic place for the usual routines before the match.
Both teams watched a minute of silence before the start of the game on Friday, June 20.
“Both teams today will wear black bracelets as a sign of respect for those who lost their lives on an air aircraft,” she said in an English cricket album in a statement.
“Our thoughts are with all affected events that took place last week in Ahmedabad”.
