India withdrew the translating rights from Bangladesh to send trade to third countries. This does not apply to the trade in Nepal and Bhutan, Mea said on Wednesday (April 9, 2025).

For some time, the translating devices were to result in significant overload at our airports and ports. The logistics delay and higher costs prevent our own export and have created pending items, the ministry said.
“Therefore, the equipment was downloaded Wef 8 April 2025. To clarify this, these measures do not affect the Bangladeshi exports to Nepal or Bhutan transit through the Indian territory,” Mea added. .
The equipment allowed smooth trading flows for Bangladesh’s export to countries like Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar. India was provided by Bangladesh in June 2020.
The announcement comes at a time when the US deposited extensive tariffs on a number of countries, including India and Bangladesh.

The former circular allowed to translate export loads from Bangladesh to third countries using Indian customs stations (LCSS) on the way to Indian ports and airports.
