US President Donald Trump Aide and White House’s business advisor Petero re -focused India on tariffs and Russian oil and said India was coming to the table.
“They make money from us through unfair trade and many workers are screwed. They use this money to buy Russian oil and the Russians use it to buy weapons,” Peter Navarro said in an interview with CNBC International.
He also added: “India comes to the table. On the commercial side they have very high tariffs.”
This note comes when the US main negotiator Brendan Lynch is to arrive in India late Monday to discuss the proposed bilateral trade agreement India-USA.
Previously, Navarro also said that India “must come” at some point in business negotiations with the US, otherwise it “does not end well” for Delhi.
On Sunday, Trade Minister Howard Lutnick said India was praising that he had 1.4 billion people, but he would not buy a small amount of American corn. Lutnick also warned that the new Delhi had to reduce their tariffs or face “heavy” business with the US.
“This is a president model and you will accept it, or you will have a difficult time to trade with the world’s largest consumer,” Lutnick said.
Tuesday’s renewal interviews on Tuesday
Five rounds of negotiations were made. The sixth round of interviews on the bilateral trade agreement of India-USA (BTA) was scheduled for 25.-29. August. However, after storing 50 % of tariffs on Indian goods, interviews were postponed.
“Tomorrow’s conversations will be the predecessor of the sixth round of negotiations,” the clerk said.

Trump softens the stand, India reacts
Last week, in his contribution to Truth Social, Trump said he was pleased to announce that India and the US continue to negotiate to deal with business barriers.
“I look forward to talking to my very good friend, Prime Minister Modi in the coming weeks. I am sure that both of our big countries will not be a successful conclusion!” said.
In response to Trump’s remarks Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India and the US were close friends and natural partners.
“I am convinced that our business negotiations will prepare a way to release the unlimited partnership potential in India and the US. Our teams are trying to discuss these discussions first.
