The problem in conversations with Pakistan is not a language, but finding a common vision of decency and peace, said on Tuesday (June 3, 2025), the SHAROOR Congress, who stressed that the new Delhi could participate in Dialogue with Islamabad if he took significant steps against terrorism.
Mr. Tharoor who leads parliamentary delegations of all parties to BrazilHe also said that his team successfully handed over the Indian message against terrorism to the country of Latin American countries, including those who could have some misunderstandings.
“That’s what we constantly say to our partners. If Pakistan is as innocent as they say, why they give safe refuge to want terrorists? Why are they able to live peacefully, perform training camps and radicalize other people to equip weapons and make people practice their hands and kalashnikovs …”
He said that the problem with Pakistan is not a language, but finding a common vision of decency and peace.
“You forbid this infrastructure of terrorism, which is visible everywhere in your country. Then of course we can speak,” he said.
“We can talk to them in Hindustani. We can talk to them in Punjab. We can talk to them in English. There is no problem in finding a common land with Pakistan.
“They want to reduce us all 1,000 cuts to death. They won’t bleed as easily.
As for the next question of whether India hopes that Brazil, which organizes the BRICS Parliament Forum, can give a statement about terrorism against Indian citizens, Mr. Tharoor said, “I think honestly, I do not know without having another agenda.
“As for other problems that are concerned about you, you know, International Forums are not our interest. Our interest is sincerely our two -sided relationship with Pakistan and Pakistan complete failure of terrorism in their country,” he said.
Asked if nations have recognized the Indian attitude against terrorism, Mr. Tharoor said that his delegation was for four nations, Guyana, Panama, Colombia and Brazili- and “that was very clear in all the countries we were on”.
“And I would say that in all four countries we had a very clear success, if it is a word, I do not want to boast of success. This is for others to judge.
Previously, Mr. Tharoor said that Colombia had withdrawn a statement that Pakistan offered a condolence of loss of lives after Indian military strikes in response to the Pahalgam attack after his delegation explained Islamic persistent support of cross -border terrorism.
“And as a result of getting into our message, we could certainly return that these countries understand our situation better and express full solidarity with our fight against terrorism, which is the main purpose of our journey,” Tharoor said.
The delegation led by Tharoor will head to Washington DC from Brazil.
Asked about the expectation of a delegation from a visit to Washington DC, Mr. Tharoor said, “My expectations are that it will be a difficult visit. We have many different kinds of audiences,” he said.
“Judging by some information that floats around, we fly around, we get some interesting and possibly demanding questions that we will be happy to answer,” he added.
