The leaders of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance will meet in the capital on Tuesday (June 3, 2025) to introduce a uniform front and promote a special parliamentary session to “discuss the development of a terrorist attack in Pahalgam”.
The opposition spoke of writing a common call demanding a special session and claiming to have stood in the government and supported its efforts to deal with the international community about India. Seven delegations with multiple parties are on tour around the world to focus the story of terrorism sponsored by Pakistan.
The opposition wants Parliament’s meeting to be organized after the return of delegations in the next week. They argue about a “full and sincere debate” and claim that, as a result of similar conflicts, a parliament was reflected in the matter. “There are serious issues facing a nation regarding terrorist attack, conflict, killing civilians in Poonch, Uri and Rajouri, ceasefire announcements and consequences for our national security and foreign policy,” said the highest opposition leader.
He further pointed out that while foreign nations and their media were informed, the Indian parliament was not.
According to sources, the opposition was undecided on whether to write a common letter or to get any opposition Member to send a separate action. The decision on such a marked meeting will be taken on Tuesday (June 3, 2025).
According to sources, however, there could be more than a few absent. No representative of the Nationalist Congress Party (SP) is likely to participate in the meeting. His leader Sharad Pawar said earlier that a special session may not be appropriate. “I am not against the call of a special meeting of parliament … but this is a sensitive and serious problem and discussion of such a serious problem is not possible in parliament … In such a situation, it is necessary to maintain information about intimate interest,” he said. Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh chaired the meeting of all parties on May 8, 2025.
