Sunil Gavaskar believes India will experience increased pressure heading into their clash with Pakistan, mainly because of the sky-high expectations from the supporters.
“India are the favorites at the start. The way India are playing, everyone expects them to win,” Gavaskar noted, adding that the opposition will naturally try to overturn those predictions.
The former captain suggested a familiar remedy to deal with such pressure: “Shut off the noise. Don’t read anything about cricket, just talk, keep company, joke a bit and keep your spirits up.”
Gavaskar stressed the importance of staying present rather than thinking about the high-stakes clash against their arch-rivals.
