
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi today 22nd April started a two -day visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the Crown Prince Kingdom Mohammed bin Salman.
“Departure to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, where I will participate in various meetings and programs. India has appreciated our historical relations with Saudi Arabia. Bilateral ties have gained significant dynamics in the last decade,” Modi said in post on X.
Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Jeddah in more than four decades. All his previous visits were in Riyadh, the capital of Thesaudi. Indira Gandhi was the last Indian Prime Minister who visited Jeddah in 1982.

“I am looking forward to participating in the 2nd Council for Strategic Partnership. I will also communicate with the Indian community there,” he said.

This is Modi’s third visit to Saudi Arabia in the last decade. “I look forward to participating in the 2nd Council for Strategic Partnership and I am building on my brother’s very successful state visit to my royal highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to India in 2023,” he said in a statement.
Highly profile visit
Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia comes in the middle of a reinforced diplomatic involvement between the two nations. Last year, India carried out 11 visits at the level of ministers in Saudi Arabia.

Visiting Modi in Saudi Arabia is essential for the Geopolitical Order. The world in general, and especially Western Asia, suffers from conflicts impaired by economic tension.
The visit is coming because the tariffs stored by the American administration Donald Trump forced the country to further strengthen business relations with allies to alternative markets.
India and Saudi Arabia are two fastest growing economies in the world. Both countries have the potential to affect the global order as members of the global south and G20. PM Modi and Saudi Crown Prince Salman are good with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlensky.
Israel-Palestine
Visiting India Modi will provide an important opportunity to discuss key regional and global issues. These include the situation in West Asia, the conflict of Israel-Palestine and the threats for naval security due to Houthi attacks, said Foreign Minister Vikram Misri during a special press briefing last week.
India and Saudi Arabia is likely to deepen its defense cooperation and expand its economic ties. At present, bilateral trade between the two countries is awarded around $ 43 billion, Misri said.
Visiting PM Modi is considered to be a significant step in strengthening Indian ties not only with Saudi Arabia, but with the whole bay and the Islamic world, he said.
2.7 million Indians
Saudi Arabia is an Indian fifth largest business partner and home to 2.7 million Indians who live and work there.
Modi also visits Saudi Arabia at a time when his government in India is facing protests against changes in decades of WAQF Managing Muslim qualities donated to religious and charity purposes.
